John C. Williams Architects is an Architecture, Planning, and Interior Design firm, which has been in business in New Orleans and the Gulf South for 25 years. Our primary focus is Sustainable Design, which includes historic preservation, historic restoration, and new construction.
Our practice has been enhanced over the years by a diverse group of clients, including Global Green, The Make It Right Foundation, Orleans Parish School Board, Whitney Bank, Trinity Church, The Ritz Carlton, Emeril Legasse, the French Market Corporation, and the Downtown Development District. Whether the budget is $10,000 or $100 million, we approach each project with equal thoughtfulness and attention to detail.
As engaged members of the New Orleans Community, we have taken a leadership role in the post-Katrina recovery effort. We are the selected Master Planner for the Lower 9th Ward, one of the City's hardest hit areas, and have sustainable projects underway for both Global Green and the Make It Right Foundation.
We have worked extensively with General Contractors, honing our skills in cost estimation and construction management. This experience and expertise enables us to consistently meet our client's expectations for both quality and cost.
The US Green Building Council has established a standard for evaluating Green Buildings called LEED: Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design. In our commitment to Sustainable Design Practices, we have several LEED Accredited Professionals on staff and are capable of taking a project through the LEED certification process without outside consultants. We have designed and implemented several renewable energy systems, such as solar panels, and geothermal HVAC, and we are committed to pursuing the most innovative technologies for our clients.

Make It Right
Williams Architects is the Executive Architect for Make It Right, a foundation created by Brad Pitt to rebuild the Lower 9th Ward in New Orleans.

Global Green Holy Cross Project
The Global Green Holy Cross Project, currently under construction, is designed as a LEED Platinum development in the Lower Ninth Ward of New Orleans. The project consists of five single family houses, an 18-unit Multi-Family Building, and two story Community Center and retail building.

A renovation of a storm damaged school into an Early Childhood and Family learning Center, with a focus on sustainability and community issues.

William Smith School
A new construction elementary school for heavily storm damaged St. Bernard Parish.
