The surgeons of Colon and Rectal Associates work hard to ensure their patients receive the most appropriate and up-to-date care. They are involved in national and international education forums, weekly conferences and critical appraisal of new treatments. Colon and rectal research is carried out in conjunction with LSU Health Sciences Center. The surgeons are also associated with the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center’s Physician Network.
Colon and Rectal Associates, in association with LSU Health Sciences Center in Shreveport, maintain one of only forty residencies for Colon and Rectal surgery in the United States. Surgeons trained by Colon and Rectal Associates are in practice from Alaska to Alabama and most places in between.
Colon and Rectal Associates treats patients in three medical systems: Christus Schumpert, Willis Knighton and LSU Health Sciences Center. A physician is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Patients may be referred by other physicians or seek help directly.
