THE BLUE CHIP ENTERPRISE AWARD (BCEA), co-sponsored by Mass Mutual and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, is awarded each year to an elite group of small businesses throughout the U.S. that have "demonstrated the ability to withstand the cyclical nature of business by overcoming adversity, seizing opportunities and achieving inspirational success." Among the Blue Chip honorees for 2000 is Ventura Uniform Service, Inc., a Jefferson Chamber Member located in Kenner, Louisiana.
Ventura Uniform Service was chosen for this award based on its ability to succeed in the face of serious challenges. Headed by company president Raymond B. Ventura, Sr., the industrial laundry company specializes in uniform rental and sales, as well as other linen-related services. Ventura Uniform Service was one of only two Louisiana winners in the national competition for the BCEA award. The business, honored for meeting challenges and creatively utilizing its resources to achieve success, is presently in its 25th year.
