Barber Brothers Contracting Co., L.L.C. is a privately held corporation specializing in street and highway construction. The company was founded in 1928 by A.L. Barber, Sr., Louis P. Barber, Frank A. Barber, Robert T. Barber, Harry W. Barber, and just celebrated its 75th year in business. In 2004 Barber Brothers employed 175 full-time employees who worked in excess of 300,000 man hours. Barber Brothers operates 4 asphalt plants; 4 concrete plants; a sand and gravel pit; a concrete crushing plant; and a concrete casting plant for manholes and catch basins. Waterloo Operations, a subsidiary of Barber Brothers, operates an unloading facility on the Mississippi River in Geismar.
