Choosing a Plastic Surgeon
Almost any doctor can call him or herself a cosmetic surgeon. Cosmetic surgery is not a recognized medical specialty. When seeking for a surgeon for any facial or body procedure, choose a physician that is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. This is the only board that recognizes Plastic Surgeons, and it ensures that your physician is both a qualified and experienced physician who can perform plastic surgery. Only Plastic Surgeons certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgeons can call themselves Plastic Surgeons and have been trained in this field. When you choose to have surgery, you should only go to a qualified physician.Cosmetic surgery is not a recognized field. A Plastic Surgeon like Dr. Escobar on the other hand has had years of additional training in the form of accredited residencies and fellowships, not only in Plastic Surgery but in other important areas as face and body reconstruction and procedures to minimize scarring.
