Square One Consulting was created in 1993 as a network for the management of change. Change was described then as the transition from today through tomorrows. Change Management was defined as solving problems and capitalizing on opportunities as organizations worked through this transition.
Today the challenge is pace and place. Our world is moving too fast - the marketplace never closes. Also our once comfortable local world is now a global bazaar with unlimited options. We can no longer evolve at a pace we are comfortable with - we must now sprint to stay one step "ahead of the wolf."
Change Architecture is not about evolution - it's about revolution. It's not about trying to follow the leaders of change; it's about leading your own followers in change. It's about visiting the future - defining the world as it's going to be and designing your place in that new world. Finally you must disassemble your organization of today and create it anew in your tomorrow.

Michael Manes has been described as a Cajun Philosopher. In fact he's a man with some brain tissue but far more scar tissue. Since age 8 he's worked in organizations - sitting on the inside looking out. After 35 years of pondering a better way, Mike ventured out on his own and has spent 18 years on the outside looking in.
His experiences are diverse. His observations are keen. He's been on the business end of a broom and shovel, worked under the careful scrutiny of a drill sergeant, taught at LSU, and been actively involved in public policy ventures and consumer advocacy.
Mike's world has included sales and management, expert witness work (insurance and affinity group marketing), speaking and writing on topics of change, organizational architecture, communications, team building, etc.
Additional life experiences include husband (houseboy for Sheila), daddy (Slade and Seth), grandpa (Edi Noel), Cajun comedian, author of two books, member of the Board of Trustees of the National College of Natural Medicine and a member of the National Security Seminar at the U. S. Army War College.
