Cenla Photography travels throughout the state of Louisiana providing outstanding imagesour their clients. Although wedding photography is our main specialty, we also provide professional coverage for family and children portraits, senior pictures, sporting events (including team and individual photos), family and children portraits, senior pictures, reunions, parties, commercial or corporate photos, and other "event" type photography.

There is absolutely no limit to the number of photos we take, and we do not charge by the hour as some photographers do. I have been a practicing photographer for over 25 years, and I shot my first wedding in 1989. I would also like tomention that during my photography career I have won numerous awards for my wedding photos and photos in general. Some have even been in national and international magazines. I take an extreme amount of pride in my work, and I honestly love what I do, and I believe it shows in my work. Please take a moment to read the biography if you can. It will get you more familiar and confident with me as a photographer as well as the company I represent. We would love to have you as one of our many satisfied wedding customers!

One of Cenla Photography's main photographers, Steve Mathews, has been a practicing photographer for over 25 years. He has takennumerous courses in photography from Louisiana State University in Alexandria, Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, and the Nikon School Of Photography in Houston, Texas. Steve is currently a member of the SPAA and the PPA.

Steve had his first photograph published in 1998, which was in an international magazine (that photo is still being published to tday). Since then he has won numerous awards for his excellence in photography and in 2008 he was nominated for theInternational Photographer of the Year Award! For this nomination he received a gorgeous crystal trophy and wood-grain plaque. He was also featured in the Alexandria Daily Town Talk Newspaper on May 25th, 2008in recognition of hisnomination. The Town Talk ran a 3/4 page full color article on his outstanding and rare achievement titled "A One In A Million Shot". He has also recently had photos published in a newspaper in Florida. Steve has had several of his photos on display at the Alexandria Museum of Art (one still remains on displayto this day) and numerous photos published in various national and international magazines, hard-bound books, and coffee-table anthologies. He has received several "Editor's Choice" Awards and two "Hall of Fame" Awards for his photos and is currently in talks with a national producer of post cards and related items regarding having several of his images put on post cards for distribution throughout the WORLD!Some ofCenla Photography'sprevious client's include: Governor Bobby Jindal, the Federal Government at Camp Beauregard, Alexandria Mayor Jacques Roy, Dixie World Series Softball, USFA Softball, USSSA Baseball, Grant Youth Basketball Association, Doctors Badeaux and Warshaw, Christus Cabrini Surgery Center, United States Dept of Agriculture, Louisiana Dept. of Wildlife and Fisheries, South Grant Elementary School, Dry Prong Jr. High School, Philadelphia Baptist Church,Alpine Baptist Church, and many more.

Pleasenote that Cenla Photography does NOT use an indoor studio. It seems that many peopleare getting away from the indoor "portrait" scene with"not so real"backgrounds.Steve and Kathybelieve in using the beautiful outdoors with the God given sunshine and real authentic backgrounds.They feel that photos such as these tend to look more "realistic" because well, they are! "The picturesjust have that special feel to them", says one client. So far all oftheir clients agree and have loved the idea and their photos. (In the cases wherethey musttake photos indoorsthey use backdrops and professional lighting as needed).
