What is the Arodasi Healing Institute?
The Arodasi Healing Institute resides in the Noel house, built in 1896, at 555 Herndon Street near downtown Shreveport, Louisiana, deep in the heart of the Highland neighborhood.
Arodasi is actually "Isadora" spelled backwards and reflects the words, images and principles left behind by the modern dancer, Isadora Duncan. She believed that, in order to become whole and balanced, one must get plenty of exercise, eat the right foods, and honor the creative self.
How does Arodasi define Healing?
We define healing as, "Letting Go." "Letting go" of dis-at-ease with others or ourselves through deliberate intention and personal disciplined acts of self-care. Arodasi offers avenues of "Healing through Movement". with the intention to create peace within the self and the belief that "letting go" is possible.

How did Arodasi come into being?
The word "Arodasi" came into existence in 1997. Tim Sample, a former dancer with A Visual Sound & Movement Co., said the word out loud after a rehearsal one night, as he read Isadora backwards on a painting by Dorothy Kristin Hanna. At that moment, the first time the word was said out loud, we immediately resonated with the sound of the word. We knew, that our dance needed a name. Isadora often spoke about her dance as, the "dance of the future", which is now Arodasi. We now reflect her with many creative explorations in mind and body awareness. Arodasi honors the art of creativity as a way into a calm and peaceful state for the being to exist.
A Visual Sound & Movement Co. (AVS&M Co.), begun in 1982, now includes the Arodasi Artists, who dance in public performances, work with healing, and use creativity as their pathway into healing. These artists explore their own beliefs, and creations while trying to understand their own actions and developing their true nature with awareness.
