Medical Center Diagnostics is one of the few in the southeast able to offer this service at present time due to the location of the Cyclotron (dose manufacturer). Advantages of the N-13 Ammonium Pet Myocardial Perfusion Dose Imaging include:

A higher myocardial count rate that allows better image quality.
Less than 10% of radiation exposure compared to SPECT studies.
Improved patient comfort including ability to scan patients with their arms down.
Attenuation correction, which considerably reduces false-positive studies.

An advanced diagnostic imaging procedure that creates detailed images of the body without the use of radiation (X-Rays).
Claustrophobic, obese, and pediatric patients, along with those suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome are often able to comfortably undergo MRI examinations in our open air design, with minimal noise, which eliminates the need for earplugs or headphones.

Nitrogen (13N) Cardiac PET Scan represents a significant advance over the traditional cardiac stress test. (SPECT studies using 99Technesium, commonly done in hospitals and cardiology offices.)
