What we offer
We are a performing arts studio located in the River Ridge / Harahan / Elmwood area near boutiques, restaurants and cafes. Our studio features two floating dance floors which reduce fatigue and help prevent student injuries. Our new location features a large waiting / reception room with desk staff and large TVs to watch video feeds of classes.
With a focus on education, not competition we offer dance classes and tumbling classes for students ages 3 - Adult. We offer ballet, tap, jazz, tumbling and musical theatre including acting and voice. We also offer yoga classes for adults and children, and a musical theater summer camp / workshop.
Our staff of instructors are working professionals. As performers and choreographers, their work can be found in all the major theatres here in the New Orleans area and beyond. Our students benefit from the onstage experience our instructors bring back to the classroom and in turn we encourage our students to audition and perform in the community.
Parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles rave about our low cost, 90 minute annual concert which features the students... without overpriced costumes, trophies or competitive ad and picture books. But don't confuse inexpensive with low production value. Our concert is a full theatrical experience, both for the performers and the audience.
Our students come from all over the Greater New Orleans area, including Harahan, River Ridge, Kenner, Metairie, New Orleans, Lakeview, Uptown, Algiers, Ormond, Destrehan, and Luling.
Thanks again for stopping by, look around and learn more about Encore Dance Studio, where our goal is to provide students of all ages with the skills they need to enjoy the performing arts for a lifetime.
I believe that the staff at Encore is top-notch and the students are actually learning the art of dance and the discipline that goes along with it. I appreciate the email notifications and feel as though things are handled in the most efficient manner. Each year it just gets better and better! I am very satisfied with the school and continue to recommend it to others who are beyond the "costumes and the marathon revues."
