Wow! What an amazing summer. It was great to see all our ‘summer visitors’ again.
We have some exciting news. We are offering Saturday grooming until mid-October. There is limited availability for Saturday grooming, so book your appointment early!
Speaking of booking early, it is not too early to book for the holiday season. Our suites are usually booked by October. If you know you are leaving town, give us a call!
I hope everyone has a safe and fun Labor Day.
We are so glad that TD Betty fell apart before it hit shore. This last weekend was a great rehearsal for the real thing. We are prepared at Zeus’ Place to evacuate as soon as the hurricane warnings are posted. As a pet owner, you should be prepared to evacuate with you pet(s). In your hurricane evacuation pack, you should include your pets(s) most current vaccine records, name and phone number of your vet, microchip number for your pet(s), enough food to last a week, any medications your pet may need, heartworm preventative, flea preventative, toys and treats. Having these items ready to go will make your evacuation much easier. Remember that if you are evacuating with a cat, buy a crate for your cat that is big enough to hold a litter pan. You will not be sorry
Attn ZP clients. We are closely watching TD Bonnie. At present time, we have no plans to evacuate for this storm. We have generators, fresh water and food in place to last over 96 hours. We will continue to post updates as this storm gets closer. Please feel free to call us at 504.304.4718 with any questions.
What a great Spring! The pets and staff enjoyed playing in the backyard during the mild days.
Now that we are in the full heat of summer, we will change up our routine a little. To avoid overheating, the dogs will get shorter, but more frequent play times outside. All pets are closely monitored to ensure their safety and comfort while in our care.
If you have driven down Freret Street in the last couple of months, you may have noticed some changes to the outside of the building. We have painted and added an awning to the front of the building. Be on the look out for more changes to come soon! We always seem to be growing to keep up with our demand for boarding and grooming.
We have just entered hurricane season. All pets who board with us during hurricane season will be required to have a current, signed evacuation policy on file. You can find a copy of this policy on website under the hurricane evacuation policy link.
We fill up quickly during the summer months. Please be sure to book your reservations as soon as you know you are leaving town!
I wish everyone a happy, safe and fun summer!
We are collecting fur to make booms for the recent oil spill in the gulf. I will be delivering the fur to the collection boxes for www.matteroftrust.com at the Ritz on Friday afternoons. If you would like to donate fur or nylons to the cause, bring them to Zeus’ Place and I’ll include it in our weekly donations!
Dr. Jessica will bring her mobile vet clinic to Zeus’ Place on Friday, May 14th. Call 504.224.1996 to make an appointment!

A note to clients from Michelle….
Hi! I am Michelle Ingram and I own Zeus’ Place. I would like to share a couple of things about Zeus’ Place. We encourage socialization and play time for dogs who thrive on companionship. We find that exercise and play time decreases stress while in a kennel environment and make the dogs happier. Our staff asks clients, when they drop their pets off, if they like other dogs and would like them to play with others while outside.
We want your pet to be as comfortable as possible while in our care. We welcome all bedding and toys from home. We ask that anything you bring fits inside a normal washing machine, since we wash everything everyday. We ask owners not to bring their pets’ most prized possessions. With all the excitement, dogs can sometimes chew things that they would not normally chew at home.
We have over 20 webcams through out the building and backyard. Unfortunately, due to the logistics of the building, the cameras do not cover every kennel. Any pet staying with us can be on a webcam at any given time. If you call the main business line (504.304.4718) at any time during business hours, we will bring your pet in front of a web cam so that you can see them.
All dogs get a minimum of 4 off-leash outside times per day in our full 30 X 120 secured lot. This time is either spent with other dogs playing or alone with staff. During the hotter summer months, the dogs’ out times are shorter in length, but greater in frequency. We don’t want any dogs to get overheated while playing outside.
Our PlayPen has 2 cameras on it. The play pen is used for well socialized dogs that come in for daycare. Often times we will put our longer term boarders in there so that they are not kenneled for their entire stay. If they get tired or overwhelmed, we move them to another kennel for rest time.
Most dogs do leave Zeus’ Place a little more tired than normal. We spend our days playing with them and running them in and out. While in their kennels during the day, they enjoy chewing on their toys or watching the dogs pass in front of their kennel. If you work a normal 8 – 5 day, your dog probably spends his time sleeping and waiting for your to come home. They typically use up more energy while staying at Zeus’ Place than they do when they are at home. Most regular clients enjoy their day or two of rest after picking up their pet!
I want you and your pet’s stay at Zeus’ Place to be happy and enjoyable. If you ever have any questions or concerns, please tell any Zeus’ Place worker who is there. You can also email me at info@zeusplace.com. If you prefer, please free to call me at 504.231.7865.
