Not all schools are created equally - compare us to other massage schools on the Gulf Coast and we think you'll see the difference too. Browse through the awards and honors on the faculty page that our school and school director have received.
We have simplified the Admissions process so that you can print an application from our website and mail or fax it to us, or request a catalog by mail. You can also transfer your hours from another massage school and receive a tuition credit.
We have the lowest tuition rates for a 510-hour program in the South. But low cost does not mean low quality. In fact, we have a top-notch faculty and an awesome curriculum.
There are many massage schools on the Gulf Coast, but only ONE has a best-selling national textbook author on staff. Our Director, Susan Salvo, has written two massage textbooks that are used nationwide. Massage Therapy: Principles and Practice and Mosby's Pathology for Massage Therapists are used in massage schools from coast to coast. Ms. Salvo has also written specialty chapters for other massage textbooks and is prominently featured in the documentary History of Massage Therapy in the United States
Our spacious classroom is outfitted with state-of-the-art equipment, allowing us to integrate our curriculum to include the most up-to-date information with digital presentations. Our textbooks include supplemental information on DVD, as well as the EVOLVE website, with interactive games for students to aid the learning process. LIMT also offers internet access for students, with class materials available online via our cutting edge website and well as instructional You Tube videos. Online materials are posted very simply, with no complicated blackboard logins necessary, so even the most technology-shy student can navigate with confidence.
WEEKEND CLASSES - Our students can attend classes on alternate weekends so they have time to practice their massage routines, and study for exams. This is a perfect schedule for students who work full time during the week or have child visitation every other weekend. It's also a great schedule for those who live outside the Lake Charles area and wish to commute. The weekend classes afford our students an easy drive from Lafayette, Alexandria, Baton Rouge, New Orleans, Shreveport, and Monroe, as well as from Houston, Beaumont, and other parts of southeast Texas.
DAY CLASSES - At LA Massage School, students can now attend classes during the weekdays, completing the program in about 7 months. Day classes are held Monday through Thursday from 9:00am to 2pm. Day classes are generally available in the fall, when the weekend class registration is full. Please see the class schedule.
You can complete your massage therapy training in as little as 7 to 11 months. After that, you can begin your new career and start living the lifestyle you've always dreamed about.
Student clinical practice is the heart of our career training programs, providing students the opportunity to experience the client/practitioner relationship and create individualized client sessions under the close guidance of a Clinic Supervisor. Through supervised practice in the student clinic, the LIMT student develops the skills needed to promote a successful and fulfilling massage practice.
No one understands massage education and the massage industry better than members of that profession. Everyone associated with our Massage Institute is a massage therapist or other healthcare professional - that way, you get the very best massage education.
Listen to What Our Graduates Have to Say. Don’t just take our word for it; read testimonials from our former students. And don't stop there, research your education before you make the commitment. Call massage therapists in your area and ask them their opinion about our massage program. While you have them on the phone, ask them how much they charge for a massage. Do the math and see what kind of earning potential a career in massage therapy can bring. While you are at it, book a massage and see for yourself what all the fuss is about.
