Hello! We are so excited that you had the opportunity to stop by our web site. We have a family of faith in which you can find a fun and nurturing fellowship, a place of learning and spiritual growth, and exciting new ways to make a Christian difference in the world. It is our hope that you will want to make St. Luke-Simpson your new church home.
The history of our church began on a Sunday afternoon at 3 o'clock, March 2, 1890. Rev. C. A. King preached his first sermon in Lake Charles to a congregation of 19. The Church was organized in the old Masonic Hall and held services there for nearly eight years.
RUN FOR THE GOAL! Our church has devoted pastors, creative musicians and a great support staff who, week after week, insure varied and meaningful worship experiences and oversee a myriad of effective programs and activities for all. They deserve to be appropriately compensated. They have not had a pay increase for two years. The Pastors and staff salary portion of the 2011 budget includes a modest overall increase, which they may not realize if the budget goal is not met. If you’ve not done so already, please pick up your pledge packet in the narthex today! Pray about your pledge, be as generous as you can and turn in your pledge card by November 3rd.
Our professional caring staff is dedicated to providing fun, child-centered teachings and quality childcare in a safe,Christian learning environment that help your child to prepare for success.
The St. Luke Simpson Child Care Center has openings in the Infant room. Please contact the Child Care Center at 474-0728 with any questions that you might have regarding these openings.
New or Future Members This is your best portal of entry into the life of the church whether you are ready to learn, to serve or in need of support.
This four week course is offered three times a year during one of the Sunday School hours. It is designed to connect visitors and new members to the life and ministries of St. Luke-Simpson. We will talk about who we are and what we do, but most importantly, we'll talk about YOUR place at SLS! For more information contact Laura at the Church Office...(337-474-1500)
Honduras 2011! Mission to Siguatepeque, Honduras. The mission dates are February 19-27, 2011. Nurses, Doctors, Pharmacists, Dentists, EMT’s, and anyone interested in working with children are needed for this mission. If interested call Dean Sawyer @ 274-9238.
“WOW” is an after-school program for children in Kindergarten through 5th grade. Our program will consist of a rotation through Bible stories, crafts, games and snacks.
Nothing says “Praise God” with such joy and warmth as children singing or ringing bells or handchimes in worship! If you have children from 3 years old through 5th grade, we have great choirs for them to participate in. Rehearsals are a mix of learning to sing or ring great music and learning how to praise God through their musical offerings, as well as enjoying our time together!
