Dr. Melvin H. Procell has maintained a thriving dental practice in Homer, Louisiana since 1980. A native Louisianan, Dr. Procell attended Northeast Louisiana University for his undergraduate studies and then went to Louisiana State University in New Orleans for his advanced dental degree. Both he and his staff have extensive post graduate studies in all fields of General Dentistry.
Dr. Procells hobbies include golf, fishing, hunting, and spending time with his family. He also devotes much of his time to his ongoing education in the dental field.
Dr. Procell and his staff strive to provide quality esthetics and functional dentistry while making patient comfort a top priority. For reluctant patients having anxiety about dental visits, Dr. Procell offers conscious sedation that will insure a relaxed and comfortable experience.
Through continuing education, Dr. Procell is delighted to provide enhanced smile make overs utilizing the new smile shaded materials and techniques. For the past 14 years, Dr. Procell has also practiced implant dentistry to restore smiles and chewing function for many of his patients.
Dr. Procell is a charter member and serves on the board of the Ark-La-Tex Academy of Continuing Dental Education. Established in 1984, the academy is dedicated to bringing the top national dental educators to Shreveport to present their courses. Over 50 hours of instruction is provided annually by the academy to the 100 plus members and staff.
In addition to the Ark-La-Tex Academy, Dr. Procell is also a member of the Louisiana Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, and the American Dental Association.
Marcia Copeland is the office manager with 22 years experience in the dental field. She also holds a license in advanced dental assisting. Cassie Edwards is Dr. Procells Dental Hygienist. Kathy Biggs is the chair side assistant with over 20 years of clinical assisting. Kathy also has a license in advanced dental assisting.
