Our friend and neighbor (at St. James Place), Dr. Malcolm Tolbert has written a captivating collection of essays on Jesus' birth, temptation, teachings, anguish at Gethsemane, and his crucifixion. These insightful essays deal with issues we all face in life, sin, love, wealth, discipleship, perfection, family, loneliness, and faith. A graduate of LA College and teacher at NOBTS for fifteen years, Dr. Tolbert is no stranger to UBC, having spoken in our church many times over the years. Some may not know that he was in the Army Air Corps during WWII and served as a missionary in Brazil for almost 10 years. These essays are a refreshing look at Jesus' life through the eyes of someone whom we have come to love and respect.
