Tracey Turgeau Powell practices in and around the St. Tammany area and has represented clients in various matters throughout the State of Louisiana. Her three main areas of practice are personal injury, family law, and criminal defense with a concentration on DWI and drug charges. Prior to graduation from law school, she clerked for District Attorney Walter Reed, under the direction of Lane Carson, and assisted in cases involving bond forfeiture, code enforcement issues, and various civil matters. She practiced law at Turgeau Law Firm From 2004 until 2006. In June of 2006 she opened her own practice located in Slidell, Louisiana. In November of 2007, Tracey was elected as the Justice of the Peace in Ward 8, Slidell.
Tracey is the past Vice-President of the Slidell Bar Association, Member of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, National College for DUI Defense, American Trial Lawyers Association, Covington Bar Association, and the American Bar Association. She holds a Juris Doctorate from Loyola Law School and received her Bachelor of Arts from Southeastern Louisiana University in 2001. She is also admitted to practice in Federal Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana.
Tracey understands that usually when you need a lawyer, it’s not a good situation. She understands the emotional and financial hardship that goes along with legal problems, and will do everything within her power to make the process as painless as possible.
