Pastor Carlo D. Bates, Sr. is a life long resident of Baton Rouge, LA. He's married to Lady Stephanie Bates and has three children: Latoya, Carlo Jr., and Korsha. In the year of 1986 God spoke and Pastor Bates heeded the call to minister the gospel. Reverend W. M Pitcher guided Pastor Bates in his early years of ministry.
While in a period of transition, God placed the vision of Fellowship Tabernacle in Pastor Bates spirit. During this time, he and his family moved to Atlanta, Georgia and became members of New Birth Missionary Baptist church, where he sat under the leadership of Bishop Eddie L. Long, Sr. New Birth groomed Pastor Bates into the Man of God he is today.
Upon returning to Baton Rouge, Pastor Bates began to act on the vision God had placed within him. Fellowship Tabernacle was birthed out of a small bible study in His home. This bible study grew beyond the walls of his home and was moved to a small conference room located in an office park on Harry Drive in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Although this space was a bigger room, it could only hold 45 to 50 people. This was only for a season because the membership continued to grow and once again, God moved. Fellowship Tabernacle is now in its present location at 1450 N. Airway Drive with lots of room for growth and expansion.
