Throughout my professional law career, I have continued to stay up to date on current cases before the courts and new and amended statutes. In my readings, I have found this is the key to understanding the law as it applies to each individual client's needs. These recent opinions give me, as an attorney, statutory and case law authority to help me prevail in court. By consistently reading these opinions, I am able to properly represent my clients.
I have actively practiced Criminal Defense Law, Personal Injury Law, Family and Domestic Law, and a wide range of Civil Law Issues for over thirteen years. Upon accepting a case, I immediately begin researching Louisiana Case Law which in turn will become my basis and theory to represent my client's best interest.
Recently, I made a major decision to practice only Criminal Defense Law and Personal Injury Law. This need and decision was based on the demand which I have personally witnessed, for experienced Criminal Defense and Personal Injury Trial Attorneys. I have witnessed attorneys who have never tried a criminal case represent people whose life is dependent on these lawyers' skills. Also, I have witnessed people seriously injured being represented by lawyers who are settling cases for fifty cents on the dollar. This type of representation is not in the best interest of the client. They require and deserve a more experienced trial lawyer who will concentrate and who can give honest answers to the client's questions based on their personal court room experience. For these reasons, I have chosen to only practice Criminal Defense and Personal Injury Law at this time. Another aspect that contributes to my success is my assertiveness and, if needed, aggressive personality. As we enter the new millennium, the court system has become more intimidating toward attorney client representation. Trial attorneys must assert courage and aggressiveness while also maintaining their integrity.
